Product Information

A crate engine is a fully assembled engine shipped in a crate, ready for installation. It includes all major components — engine block, cylinder heads, and internal parts — so you're getting a complete, ready-to-install unit.
Our engines typically include the engine block, cylinder heads, camshaft, valvetrain components, and sometimes intake and exhaust manifolds. Specific inclusions vary — refer to the individual product listing for full details.
All of our engines are brand new crate motors. We do not sell rebuilds, reconditioned, or second-hand engines. Every unit is manufactured new with medium to high quality components.
Yes — our crate engines are direct plug and play replacements, built to match OEM specifications. They bolt in and connect to your existing wiring harness, mounts, and accessories without modification.
No — there is no exchange motor required. You do not need to send your old engine back to us. You're free to dispose of or keep it.
We highly recommend professional installation to ensure proper fitment and performance. Professional installation by a qualified mechanic is also required to maintain warranty coverage.
Regular maintenance is essential — oil changes, fluid checks, and tune-ups. Follow the manufacturer's recommendations for service intervals. Consistent servicing ensures longevity and peak performance.
Yes — all engines are certified to comply with Australian emission regulations, matching the same standards as the original engine in your vehicle.
Hot testing means the engine has been run on a test bench before shipping to verify it starts, idles, and operates correctly. This quality step catches any issues before the engine reaches you.
Yes — every engine we dispatch is fitted with a unique QR code on top of the motor. Scan it to instantly access a hot test video showing your engine running and tested prior to dispatch. Hot test videos are provided when applicable and may not be available for all engine configurations.
Engines ship without coolant for safe freight transit. Your mechanic will need to fill all fluids to specification and prime the system before first start — never attempt to start the engine before it has been properly filled and primed.
Keep the engine in its crate and packaging, indoors in a dry area, until your mechanic is ready to install it. Avoid removing protective coverings from ports and openings, and don't store it exposed to weather — moisture is the enemy of a new engine.

Fitment & Compatibility

Each listing specifies compatible vehicles by make, model, engine code, and year range. Use our Find by Make / Model tool, or contact us with your VIN and we'll confirm fitment before you buy.
100% fitment guaranteed or your money back. If the engine doesn't correctly fit the vehicle listed on the product page, we'll arrange a full resolution.
Contact our team first — we can advise on compatibility. However, the fitment guarantee only applies to vehicles listed on the product page.
We need your vehicle's make, model, year, engine code, and ideally VIN. The engine code is usually stamped on the block or on your compliance plate.
Toyota, Hyundai/Kia, Holden, Nissan, Mitsubishi, Isuzu, and Ford/Mazda. Browse our full catalogue or search by make/model.
Yes — our engines are built to OEM specs and plug directly into your vehicle's existing ECU, wiring harness, and sensor connections. No remapping needed.
In some cases, external accessories like the alternator, starter motor, A/C compressor, or power steering pump may need to be transferred. Check the product listing for what's included.
A long block includes the engine block, crankshaft, pistons, cylinder head(s) and valvetrain. A complete engine adds external components such as manifolds and ancillaries. Each product listing states exactly what's included — and our Learn the Lingo guide explains all the terminology.
