Limited Warranty Coverage

We proudly offer a 1-year limited warranty on all crate engines sold by Crate Engines Australia. This warranty provides coverage against defects in materials and workmanship, offering you protection and assurance in your purchase.

Warranty Period

The warranty period begins from the date of confirmed delivery of the crate engine to the customer. This 1-year warranty period ensures that you have ample time to assess the performance and reliability of your engine under normal operating conditions.

What Is Covered

Our warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship found in the crate engine during the warranty period. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Manufacturing defects in the engine block, cylinder heads, pistons, camshaft, and other internal components.
  • Premature failure or malfunction of critical engine components.
  • Engine performance issues caused by defective parts or workmanship.

What Is Not Covered

While our warranty provides comprehensive coverage, there are certain exclusions and limitations to be aware of. The following items are not covered under the warranty:

  • Normal wear and tear from regular use, including engine consumables such as filters, belts, and spark plugs.
  • Damage resulting from improper installation, misuse, neglect, or unauthorized modifications.
  • Engine damage caused by improper maintenance, lack of lubrication, or overheating.
  • Incidental or consequential damages, including but not limited to towing, rental car expenses, or loss of income.

Submitting a Warranty Claim

If you believe your crate engine is experiencing a defect covered by the warranty, we encourage you to contact our customer service team promptly. To initiate a warranty claim, please follow these steps:

  1. Contact our customer service team to report the issue and provide details of the problem.
  2. Our team will guide you through the warranty claim process and may request additional information or documentation, such as photos or diagnostic reports.
  3. If the warranty claim is approved, we will provide instructions for returning the engine to us for inspection and repair or replacement.

Resolution of Warranty Claims

Upon receiving the returned engine, our experienced technicians will conduct a thorough inspection to determine the cause of the defect. Depending on the nature of the issue and the warranty coverage, we will take appropriate measures to resolve the problem, which may include repairing or replacing the defective parts or the entire engine.

Exclusions and Limitations

It’s important to note that our warranty is non-transferable and applies only to the original purchaser of the crate engine. Additionally, any modifications or alterations made to the engine without prior authorization from Crate Engines Australia will void the warranty.

Complexity of Engine Warranty

The warranty for crate engines is inherently more intricate due to several factors:

  1. Interconnected Components: Crate engines are not standalone units but rather integral parts of a larger automotive system. The performance and longevity of the engine can be influenced by factors such as fuel quality, lubrication, cooling systems, and electronic components.

  2. Installation and Maintenance: Proper installation and maintenance are crucial for the optimal performance and longevity of a crate engine. While we ensure the quality of the engine itself, we rely on the expertise of mechanics and technicians responsible for installation and ongoing maintenance. Issues arising from improper installation or neglectful maintenance may impact engine performance and are not covered under the warranty.

  3. Bolt-On Parts Compatibility: Many customers choose to enhance the performance of their crate engines with aftermarket bolt-on parts such as intake systems, exhausts, and performance tuners. While these modifications can enhance performance, they may also introduce compatibility issues or put additional stress on engine components. Any damage or malfunction caused by incompatible or improperly installed bolt-on parts is not covered under the warranty.

Navigating Warranty Claims

Navigating warranty claims for crate engines requires careful consideration of these factors:

  • Diagnostic Assessment: When assessing warranty claims, our technicians conduct thorough diagnostic assessments to identify the root cause of any issues. This may involve examining installation records, inspecting maintenance practices, and evaluating compatibility with aftermarket modifications.

  • Collaboration with Mechanics: We work closely with mechanics and technicians involved in the installation and maintenance of our crate engines to ensure a comprehensive understanding of any issues that may arise. Collaborative efforts help streamline the warranty claims process and facilitate prompt resolution.

  • Educational Resources: We provide educational resources and guidelines to customers and mechanics to promote proper installation, maintenance, and compatibility with aftermarket modifications. By empowering customers with knowledge, we aim to mitigate potential warranty issues and maximize the performance and longevity of our crate engines.
