Find the right Cummins 3.9L replacement.
The 4BT model name is the starting point. Send your equipment make, model and year, together with a clear photograph of the engine identification plate. Include the engine serial number and CPL (Control Parts List) where shown so we can assess the required specification.

| Fitment check | Details to match before ordering |
|---|---|
| Equipment & year | Make, model, build year and original engine application; no universal year-range fitment is claimed. |
| Engine identification | Full model designation, serial number and CPL where available. |
| Output & duty | Advertised 150hp (approximately 112kW). Confirm rated speed, torque and duty against the supplied engine specification; this is not a blanket continuous-duty rating. |
| Mounting & driveline | Engine mounts, sump position, flywheel and flywheel-housing arrangement. |
| Electrical & accessories | 12V electrical specification: confirm starter, alternator, wiring, manifolds and cooling connections. Here, 12V means electrical voltage, not valve count. |
| Supplied components | Confirm the included assembly and any components to transfer in your written quote. |
A 4BT model name alone does not guarantee a direct fit. Check the sump, mounts, flywheel housing, accessories and intended duty. Vehicle conversions also require installer advice on engineering and applicable approvals.

Find the original fault
Have a qualified diesel workshop establish why the old engine failed. Resolve related cooling, lubrication or fuel-system problems before fitting the replacement.
Check before fitting
Compare the delivered engine with your agreed specification. Inspect any reused accessories and clean transferred components before assembly.
Follow the correct procedure
Have your installer check valve clearances and follow the engine-specific fitting, priming, commissioning and run-in requirements. Retain installation and service records.
