Your Swift.

Looking for a Suzuki Swift engine for sale? Start with a brand new M16A 1.6L long block, then match the exact specification to your Swift Sport. Our team can check your vehicle details and explain the supplied components before you order.

01 / Match your vehicle
Suzuki Swift Sport M16A compatibility
This listing covers enquiries for the 2005–2011 Swift Sport 1.6L M16A. Confirm the exact vehicle and engine specification before purchase; the Swift name or M16A code alone is not a complete fitment check.
| Vehicle application | Listed years | Before ordering |
|---|---|---|
| Suzuki Swift Sport EZ · 1.6L petrol | 2005–2011 | Confirm the M16A engine and Sport specification against your vehicle. |
| Suzuki Liana · 1.6L M16A | 2001–2011 | Ask for an application-specific check. Do not assume the Swift Sport and Liana specifications are identical. |
Identify your engine
Send the model, build year, engine code and photographs of your original engine. Include the VIN if available.
Confirm Sport specification
Ask us to verify the supplied long block for your original engine specification, including the head, camshafts and compression specification.
Plan the installation
Confirm transmission compatibility, covers, sump, mounts, sensors and the external components your workshop will transfer.
This is not a blanket replacement for every Swift engine size, later Swift generation or other M16A-powered Suzuki. Confirm your application with our team before ordering.
02 / Plan the engine swap
A new long block.
A carefully matched installation.
The engine is supplied as an assembled M16A long block. The photographs help your workshop inspect the configuration; the final order specification confirms exactly what is included.
The engine assembly
- Assembled cylinder block and internal rotating assembly.
- Cylinder head with camshafts and valvetrain.
- Internal timing components as confirmed in the supply specification.
- Confirm sump, rocker cover and other covers before ordering; photographs show more than one viewing configuration.
Check external components
- Intake and exhaust manifolds, throttle body and fuel-system components.
- Wiring, sensors and ignition equipment.
- Starter, alternator, air-conditioning compressor and mounting brackets.
- Flywheel or flexplate, clutch and other transmission-related parts.
Do not assume external accessories are included unless listed on your order. Keep the old engine until your installer has identified and checked every component needed for transfer.
03 / Choose your replacement
Brand new, reconditioned or used?
A brand new M16A long block is an alternative to rebuilding your original engine or buying a used Swift motor. Compare the complete installation cost and the condition of each option.
| Option | What to compare |
|---|---|
| Brand new | New engine assembly. Confirm the exact specification, inclusions and product warranty. |
| Reconditioned | A rebuilt existing engine. Ask which parts were renewed, what machining was completed and how it was tested. |
| Used | An engine with prior use. Check kilometres, service history, condition and testing evidence. |
No exchange required. Keep your old engine for accessory transfer and workshop assessment.
04 / Budget for the whole job
Suzuki Swift engine replacement cost
Use the current engine price above as the supply cost, then request an itemised fitting quote from your workshop. The installed total depends on your vehicle and the condition of the components being reused.
Engine supply
Check the current price and stock status. Confirm fitment and dispatch timing before booking the workshop.
Fitting & diagnostics
Allow for removal, accessory inspection and transfer, installation, initial checks and any vehicle-specific setup.
Fluids & required parts
Include specified oil, coolant, filters, seals and any cooling, fuel or ignition components that need replacement.
Diagnose the original failure first. An unresolved cooling, lubrication or external component fault can affect the replacement engine too.

Suzuki Swift M16A FAQs
Get the engine specification and inclusions confirmed before arranging installation.
Does this fit every 2005–2011 Suzuki Swift?
No. This listing is for the 1.6L M16A application, with Swift Sport fitment subject to an exact specification check. Do not order for a different engine size on model year alone.
Is the Swift Sport engine the same as a Liana M16A?
Do not assume that the shared M16A code confirms an identical specification. Send your model, build details and engine information so we can confirm the supplied long block for your application.
Is this a new or reconditioned engine?
This is a brand new replacement long block, not a used or reconditioned motor.
What parts will my mechanic need to transfer?
Plan to check and transfer compatible external accessories, manifolds, wiring, sensors and transmission-related parts unless your order specifically includes them. Confirm covers and sump configuration too.
What is the total replacement cost?
Add the current supply price to your workshop quote for labour, diagnostics, fluids and any required parts. There is no single installed price that covers every vehicle.
Do you need my old engine back?
No core exchange is required. Keep the old motor until all required accessories have been transferred.
Is Australian delivery insured?
Yes. Free standard Australia-wide delivery includes insurance. Confirm dispatch timing against the current stock status; any backorder wait is separate from freight transit.
What warranty is included?
A one-year product warranty is included under the published terms. This is not a promise to cover installation labour. Retain your purchase and installation records.

Send engine photos and vehicle details so we can check the configuration, supply list and current lead time.
